On Monday, 17/08/2026, His Excellency Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received Mr. Adrian Esselstein, Consul General of the Netherlands in the Kurdistan Region.
During the meeting، the relationship between Netherlands and Kurdistan Region and how to develop them was discussed، as well as the political and security developments in the region. Discussions were also held on the issue of the formation of a new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
Finding a peaceful solution to the current conflict and tensions in the region along with the process of reform and reunification of the Peshmerga was another topic of the meeting، which was attended by Ms. Karen van Giersbergen، the Dutch Military Advisor in the Global Coalition against ISIS.
