On Thursday, July 2, 2026, His Excellency Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received Mr. Miles Caggins, Senior Fellow at the New Lines Institute and former Spokesperson for the Coalition Forces.
During the meeting، the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region، the development of US relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region، the formation of a new government cabinet and the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region، the outstanding issues of Erbil and Baghdad and a number of common issues of interest to both sides were discussed.
The Vice President reiterated the Kurdistan Region's gratitude and appreciation for the continued support of the United States in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and hoped that the agreement between the United States and Iran would lead to the consolidation of peace، stability and security in the region and the elimination of tensions and complexities in the Middle East.
