On Tuesday, 1/9/2026, His Excellency Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received His Excellency Captain Francesco Rubino and an accompanying delegation, on the occasion of the conclusion of his mission as the military head of the Italian Special Forces within the framework of the international coalition against ISIS.
During the meeting، the Vice President thanked Captain Francesco Rubino and his team for their efforts in the past and wished them success in their future missions، as well as the Italian military cooperation in developing military capabilities and establishing a military base for training for the Peshmerga.
During the meeting، the Vice President of the Kurdistan Region welcomed and congratulated the new military team and reiterated the support of the Kurdistan Region for further development of relations between the two sides.
