Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, met in Baghdad yesterday with Tom Barrack, the special envoy of President Donald Trump for Iraq and Syria.
During the meeting, which was attended by Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, the latest developments were discussed, and both sides considered the agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran to be important for maintaining regional stability.
To achieve political, economic, and security stability, emphasis was placed on supporting the new Iraqi government in order to overcome crises and challenges.
President Bafel expressed his concern regarding the failure to form the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government, stating that the legitimacy and credibility of the current government are beginning to be called into question.
During the meeting, the energy issue was discussed, and the President of the PUK indicated that the Kurdistan Region, through a strategic plan, could resolve the energy crisis throughout Iraq.
