On Monday, April 6, 2026, His Excellency Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received Mr. Ian Brem, Consul General of France in the Kurdistan Region.
During the meeting، they discussed the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the threats posed by ISIS to the stability and security of the Kurdistan Region and the region. With regard to the relations، they stressed the importance of their continuity and development، especially in terms of diplomatic efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict and destruction.
The process of reform and reunification of the Peshmerga, Erbil-Baghdad relations, as well as the importance of unity between the Kurdistan parties in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq were other topics of the meeting.
