On Monday, April 6, 2026, the Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, received Mr. Maxim Rubin, Consul General of Russia in the Kurdistan Region.
During the meeting، the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region، relations between Russia and the Kurdistan Region، as well as the formation of a new government cabinet، the outstanding issues in Erbil and Baghdad and a number of common issues of interest to both sides were discussed.
In another part of the meeting، in addition to presenting the political developments in Iraq and the region، the complexity and latest developments in the region، maintaining peace and stability in the Middle East and the consequences of the war were also addressed.
